Intrauterine Insemination - IUI

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a type of artificial insemination used in aiding women who are struggling with infertility. During IUI, sperm are placed directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation, when one or more eggs are typically released. IUI can be combined with fertility medications or coordinated with the patient’s normal cycle.

IUI is an outpatient procedure performed in our office. The procedure lasts less than 5 minutes, after specimen preparation.

Recovery: Patients do not typically experience any swelling or discomfort in the area and are able to leave the office shortly after the procedure is completed.
